Intro

Before starting on my magazine, I researched the different styles people have used in magazines before. I would pay close attention to each and every one of the magazine layouts and how they are designed. After analyzing each one, I would choose the three that would align with my vision for my magazine. I then started creating my design by combining the different styles into one to make my title unique.             I really wanted to make a cover that grabs people's attention. I made sure to put in all the main parts of a magazine cover: headline, masthead, image, barcode, issue number, and date. I picked each part carefully so they all fit together well. I would choose things carefully so they can all bond and flow as one. The reason why I included the barcode and issue, and dateline was to make the magazine realistic and overall professional.             I played with different colors to find the right feel for my magazine. I also thought about what fonts would work best with those colors. Since my magazine is about sports, I used big, strong fonts that have a sporty look and really stand out on the page. This would also apply to the type of font I wanted to use, since they both need to correlate. The colors and fonts I picked match the sports theme and help give the right feeling to readers. I think my mix of studying what works and adding my own style helped me create something that looks good and does its job well.
